These are some videos of Robocop whilst walking, his arms seem to only move in a very up down motion there is very little sideways movement which should make it slightly easier to rig the model.

Reference Videos
This is the original trailer from 1987 which i still really like.
This is a video from behind the scenes of the 1993-1994 RoboCop tv series.
Ed Neumeier and Michael Miner scripted the first RoboCop film and were back for the TV series pilot. The concept of RoboCop:The series originated with a discarded script Neumeier and Miner wrote as a sequel to the first ROBOCOP film.

Chest Plate
I have now moved on to creating the chest plate, this is a more difficult part due to how i will have to make it and then extrude and transform some of the faces to make the muscular parts and the bevelled edges of the armor. I started by making a cube and then adding multiple edge loops i then move the vertices around until i had the rough shape. After this i tweaked all the vertices until i was happy with them. I then extruded the necessary faces to give the look of pectoral muscles.

First Piece
This is the first time i have tried to model something like this, it can however be built in half seen as Robocop is symmetrical. I started with a cube trying to make the main torso, i found it very difficult at the beginning due to how i didn't know what i was doing but after a while i learned that using the create edge loop tool you make more vertices and edges across the shape allowing you to pull the shape into the postion which you wish.
Images for use as planes
After ensuring all the images and angles were the correct size i then resized them to be surrounded by the same amount of white space ready to be used as the planes. I think this is one of the most important parts of making a model, if any area was the wrong size it would mess the whole proportions of the model up and this would mean having to start again.
