More Along the right lines

The yetis in the mummy 3 (all though the film was pants) were really impressive i think personally the best part of the film. I like the way they are big snarling creatures with large claws, this is more the sort of style i would like to create but with the added feature of fur i think it would make animation more difficult.

Character Ideas

Well thinking of a biped makes me instantly think something that is human like, i had initially wanted to create a monkey but they dont so much as walk more amble using there arms. So i started thinking something unrealistic or fantasy. I would like to experiment with fur and other texturing techniques so im sort of being led towards something like an abominable snowman. I would like the character to be more visual scary than cute and friendly seen as i.m a bit fed up of everything being so nice.

This is a model i have found which you can buy for $135 of a bigfoot creature, to be honest i dont like it it just looks like a monkey, also i dont think its feet are really that big and the face is kinda ape-like.

I think this is more incredible thing i've seen, the effects are so realistic its just amazing. The way the program creates light and the way the water and clouds look are just well more advanced than i expected, and far more realistic.

3D Tools for Environment Creation

Whilst looking into means of creating a landscape in maya i did a tutorial which taught you how to use the live paint aspect of the program and create quite a nice looking environmental area. however research has shown me that industry uses programs which create hugely realistic backgrounds and environments for you. These include clouds which you can fly through, incredible forests with hugely realistic movement in generated wind and amongst others the nicest light effects i've seen.

Final Major

For this project my aim is to create a biped creature, then rig it with joints etc. After this i want to create a realistic walk cycle, push-pull, jump or some other forms of regular movement. I plan on focusing on the modeling initially with the subject in white space and after if time is permitting want to make some form of environment for it to interact with.
